The richness of the Necropolis of the Banditaccia is complemented by the funeral areas of the Sorbo, the Ripa of Saint Angelo and Monte Abatone.. Difficult to visit because of the condition of the sepulchres, for the overgrown vegetation and the uneven ground, these tombs come from a rather long period of time which refers to a great part of the Etruscan history of Caere, with frequent testimonials deriving from the Villanovan and orientializing phase (the Necropolis of Sorbo and Regolini Galassi Tomb).
The funeral area in Saint Angelo is particularly striking; the complex is characterized by the presence of open hypogea on different levels, along vertical rock walls with the facades made in fake architecture.
On the summit of Monte Abatone, the itinerary concentrates mostly on the visit to the Tomb Campana and the Tomb of Tolonia both of original structure not found in other archaeological areas of Cerveteri.
The ticket office of the Necropolis of Banditaccia is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 8.30 am to an hour before sunset.
