Even though the Torlonia Palace has lost its original characteristics, it still remains an interesting example of 16th -17th century living and it contains several rooms frescoed with thematic paintings. On the inside there is a wonderful white garden which contains only plants bearing white flowers in keeping with an ancient tradition. The present appearance of the Church of the Conception is the result of numerous transformations it has undergone over the years including the foundations. The only original part still preserved today is the apse while the façade dates back to the 18th century. From the 14th century it was dedicated to St. Felice Papa, who remained entitled until 1851 when the title passed on to The Immaculate.

The inside is extremely articulate and complex. There is a central nave, a cosmatesco floor and a trussed roof and a barrel vault lower nave to the right. On the left of the central nave there are 3 devotion chapels in typical Renaissance style. On the right wall of the central nave, a splendid painting from the 12th century illustrates stories from the Old Testament and saints in the heavens and the like. The apse is frescoed with a painting of the Madonna in glory among celestial beings. On the small nave on the right the life of Christ is depicted and there is an interesting 15th century ciborium which contains the remains of Papa Felice II.
